Rock Climbing + AR Goggles \\ "Roggles" \\

Overview

Rock climbing is a relatively old sport, but it hasn't kept up with technology. Improvements have mainly focused on safety, materials and performance, ignoring advancements in tech. To change that, I created "Roggles" by combining augmented reality goggles (AR) with the timeless sport of rock climbing.

Versions

This design went through many different versions before reaching its final goal. This experience of iterative design was very valuable to my education because it was one of my first times working with human factors design. The iterative process helped me become more thoughtful about the factors involved when working with people.

V1

This design was too chunky and didn't appear comfortable, there was also question of the clip mechanism located on top

V2

This design was too slender, it didn't seem realistic to include the enabling technology in a frame that small. Also looked uncomfortable.

V3 (Final)

The final chosen design, slender but not impossible, chunky but not heavy. It was the perfect mix of features and looked good doing it too.
